11 septembre Good Morning, Good Afternoon...[Current Mood : Bored] [Current Music : Say Anything - Alive with the Glory of Love] Pretty bored at the moment and I haven't made a big blog entry in ages. So here goes. Remember sometime in October last year how I blogged about being the star of my own show, where everyone would be watching my everyday life without me knowing (ie. like The Truman Show). Anyway, I've been thinking about the present and future recently (nothing that big) and wondering how it'll all turn out. Which got me thinking about the blog entry I mentioned before. It wouldn't suck THAT much to live like that. I mean seriously, I doubt they would let me deteriorate into a bin scavenging bum that lived on the streets. I'm sure they'd rig exams and shit so I'd get a reasonable pass grade. Of course, it'd suck if everyone saw me pick my nose and shit. I'm sure they wouldn't allow me to die or something either (at least not until I get old and boring). Speaking of dying, the 'new' Fruitgrove Station puts you in that situation quite a lot now. If you didn't know already, the Queensland Government is using up all their money to beautify up the train stations. That means, refurbished shelters, new rail lines, new ticket vending machines and probably the (finally) implementing of the 'SmartCard' system. *Side note* Hong Kong's Octopus Card system was actually designed by an Australian company. Funnily enough, the system never took off in Australia (probably because of fence jumping bogans) and they are actually going to the Chinese for help with the system now. *end side note* .... Fruitgrove station is almost done with its face lift and I gotta say they did a pretty shit job. Don't get me wrong, the station looks great, it's just that the person that planned the layout was probably the biggest dunce ever. See bottom for picture of layout. It's pretty damn stupid with the new layout. The outbound bus (me going home) leaves about 2 minutes after the train gets to Fruitgrove, so you are forced to risk your life if you want to make the bus (and not wait another 15 minutes). First off, you are forced to run to the END of the platform (because that's the only way out now) and around the 'snake' to get to the inbound bus stop. That's where you have to make a MAD DASH (dotted green line) across two super busy roads. It's basically playing Frogger, but with NO lives/continues and only Game Overs. Of course, you could wait at the lights for the Green Man to come on (heh, Clara! Here is your mention!), but you are definitely going to miss the bus (red line)! I can imagine how infinitely worse it would be if you had to catch the bus after getting off the train coming from the city (blue line). The MAD DASH (green line) is not advised, since you're probably out of stamina from running up/down the stairs, all the way to the end of the platform and around the 'snake'. Game Over buddy. With that said, I JUST made it on the bus today. It was already at the stop and I flagged it about 30 meters away. The driver was nice enough to wait. This wouldn't happen if I was the star of the show. The director would stop traffic just for me. ... and Good Night.
