    The first yiggs

    [Current Mood : VERY BORED]
[Current Music : Phoenix Wright - Objection theme]
I am sooooo bored at the moment. I had a lab this morning (at 8) and it finished a few hours early. My next class is at 4, it's ~12 noon now, so I still have a good 4 hours to kill.

In other news, it's finally safe to say that I was the first person to ever use "yiggs" as my nickname.

And no... it does NOT mean "yellow nigger".

My only real competition for the nickname was the owner of www.yiggs.com and after doing some snooping, I found out that he only started using the name since September 2002. Proof -> http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.yiggs.com

Hehe, sorry yiggs.com guy, I was registered yiggs@hotmail.com in 1999.

I WIN, but I don't have proof. The only person that I can remember that hasn't changed their email since I met them is John Lau.

    Oh well, I win!

    Going to the Opera

    [Current Mood : Still bored]
[Current Music : Hazel Fernandes - Number One] <- hahaha this song is so awesome *link*

I'd like to wish I went to the Opera (Super Battle Opera). I came home from Clara's place at about 9ish and stumbled upon a live feed link from Famitsu of the whole day's tournament (~10 hours). TEN hours of LIVE feed! One thing Australia could NEVER achieve with shit internet.

Long story short, I spent most of the day with a few 100 other Tekken players on msn and irc just watching this shit. We (the Aussies) went nuts when the Australian team made it on the screen. Pity it was short lived. So lucky..... drawing the second strongest Kansai team to play against first round. Australia, USA (3 teams), China etc and all the non-korean teams were knocked out in the first round, except for the European team (who had an import top tier japanese player [Tissuemon]).

In my honest opinion, the highlight of the whole 10 hours of feed was when the Tekken machine broke during the semi finals of the tournament. Not once... but TWICE! While they were fixing the machines, they switched to random interviews. The interviewer must've been venturing backstage when he ran into two random black guys (from the Soul Calibur III tournament earlier that day).

That's about it... Japan ended up winning again. Good games

    Another year, another iPod

    [Current Mood : Bored]
[Current Music : Travis - Selfish Jean]

I have never been an anti-Apple person, even though I would much rather use Windows than that osX bullshit. I DO however, like the service at Apple. I'll forget about the time that it took them a month to ship a replacement iPod from NSW to Brisbane. But yeah, I like the idea of getting a new (not refurbished) iPod every year (free of charge) just by "trading in" your old one.

In order to get your hands on a new iPod, you'll have to find a way to fuck it up beyond repair (without voiding the warranty). I suggest causing the HDD to fail, it's easy to do and it doesn't void your warranty.

    +UPDATE+
I received it today! Picture below

    Live spaces? MySpaces? Facebooks? Friendsters?

    [Current Mood : Bored]
[Current Music : Travis - Turn]

Heh, what's with all these friend networks? First of all, I'm ashamed to say that I have all of the above, but! I'm proud to say that I only really use two of them now (Live (msn) space and MySpace).

I only recently got into MySpace and by "get into" I mean "into" it enough to have uploaded a few things and added a few friends and 'celebritiesWinkWinkWink', not to mention hooking up an RSS feed of this (MSN) blog to my MySpace. I must say though, I'm finding it increasingly annoying keeping track of all the fucking shit that I have going on. I reckon it'd be a pretty good idea if all of them merged into one big emo-photo blog space fake hot chick profile super-high-contrast website.

It will be called.... MyFriendsLiveBookSpaces, and if they were ever smart enough, they'd assymilate with some kind of search engine and some kind of video site and some kind of porn site and some kind of music site and some kind of video game site and some kind of news site and some kind of email site. Hmmm, that would get a bit silly trying to name the fucker though, because it would have to be called something like..

I now have a Facebook that is pimped out with random shit that eludes my true identity (because I got really bored with my old profile.. but seriously, I don't actually like men. Well, I have a lot of good male friends, but I don't LOVE (sexually) them. Geez).

Anyway, I guess what I was trying (unsuccesfully) to say is that those places are alright as long as you don't get sucked into the whole "make myself something I'm not" culture. I surf around a LOT on the net and I've seen just about EVERYTHING, though, I have NEVER seen bigger toss pots than some of the profiles on MySpace. Seriously, posting sequential webcam photos of yourself doing the same fucking pose is pretty lame. Another thing I see too often is the good old contrast photo. Holy crap, if you're gonna advertise yourself out to the world, in hopes to make friends (that's what those places are for anyway, right?), you might as well let people see who you really are (unless, of course, you've got some kind of heaps cool photoshopped picture of your own head on the MySpace founder's bodyWinkWink) even if you are ugly as that hunchback guy who rings a bell and falls in love with a gypsy.

    With that said, add me!

    My monotony (no emo)

    [Current Mood - Bored]
[Current Music - The Rascals - A Beautiful Morning]

*Bursts through the door* It's a BEAUTIFUL mornaaaan. ah yeah!

Well, it wasn't exactly a beautiful morning this morning, or any other mornings recently (cept for last Saturday morning, that was pretty good). I woke up at 5am just to get to uni today. Piece of shit 9am lectures (there are no trains between 7 and 8 (or something like that) so I had to catch the 6:11am Beenleigh). I've got uni pretty much every day this semester (only Fridays (not legit) off). For once, I'm kinda appreciating being in uni (I'm still waiting on some results anxiously), and I pray that I have passed everything.

Anyway, woke up this morning and got to the bus stop, just in time to see the sunrise. The train ride was pretty good. It's good to see train drivers actually enjoying their job. The guy driving this morning was actually giving a tour or something over the intercom. It was pretty funny. Uni was pretty much the same as always. Lab, break, lecture, lab, lecture.

This blog probably didn't make any sense at all. Nevermind... just trying to say that I'm enjoying life and the "scheduled days of misery".

    My Tekken

    [Current Mood : Bored]
[Current Music : Acres - Walking Next to You]

Well, finished my exam yesterday. I think I did ok. I pray I did ok.. I went into the exam all hyped up with Mother (the energy drink) with a runny nose and a chesty cough. The room was pretty small, but filled to the brim with people doing defers and supps. Haha, I was probably most annoying person in the room, having a coughing fit almost every 10 minutes. Oh well, I hope I didn't foil anyone's chances at passing.

Anyway, I've been looking forward to it since it was announced. Last night, I downloaded the online upgrade for Tekken. Simply put, the game sucks ass. I had a few games with Erks (Sydney), and it lagged like a bitch. The connection would fluctuate. Sometimes it was near perfect, others, there was 1-2 seconds lag. Played a few games against Quinton (Brisbane) and it was a little better, but still pretty shit.

This morning, I played against some Japanese folk. The lag was horrible, but I was still able to take a few wins by doing some pre-emptive Jack 5 cheap shit.

Tom's Rating for Tekken 5 DR: Online
    4/10
    Pros
You can finally play online with your friends
    Practise mode
    New music
    Big hype
    Cons
    Lags like a bitch
You get cut from losing to scrubs by lag
    Playing against locals still sucks

I think I will wait for the US or EU version.
